IPL Hair Removal

The newest and most effective method of permanent hair removal is called IPL. This stands for intense pulse light. IPL is much less painful than the old laser methods and far less painful than waxing which tends to create ingrown hair. IPL can be used on all parts of the body from the upper lip to the bikini region and all parts in between, in fact, any place on the body where there is unwanted hair, it can be removed with this highly efficient device. This is the method used at the Bellissimo Med Spa to insure satisfaction along with the least amount of discomfort.

An adjustable beam of light is directed down the hair shaft. This hair shaft acts as a lightening rod directing the beam of light to the stem cells destroying forever the stem cells for that individual hair follicle. The light seeks out melonin and therefore people with blond or very light colored hair are not the best candidates. Because hair grows in three cycles, anagen (growing), catagin (transition), and telogen (resting) the stem cells are only affected by the light beam during the anagen and catagen stages, therefore 3 to 5 sessions are required for best results.
